FREE copies of these leaflets will be mailed to you upon request, anywhere within New Zealand, which you can arrange by clicking here and sending a “Customer Contact Form” containing your request.
Apart from these leaflets, our 'Resources' section offers a good range of useful information to help you make fully informed decisions about your jewellery purchase.

Each Gemtime Jeweller store is not bound by some regimental prescriptive stock policy like some retail jewellery chain stores, so each individual store owner has the ability to identify exactly what “their” customers are looking for in “their” respective local market, and therefore offer a mix of products which is specifically tailored to meet their customers’ needs.

Baretti Watches - CLICK HERE A varied range of imported ladies, gents and children's watches - only available through Gemtime Jeweller stores. Most models have a water resistant rating which will enable them to withstand water contact, and there are models that are suited to diving with.
The watch movement in all Baretti models is guaranteed for a period of 3 years against originally defective workmanship or materials (manufacture faults).
Product Availability The customer acknowledges that Gemtime and its member stores may revise or discontinue products identified on this site from time to time and without notice. The customer should also be aware that certain products may not be available at the time of order or may have limited availability. Gemtime will use its best endeavours to source products ordered but can not be held liable for any items they are unable to supply.
In accordance with supply conditions required by Seiko Pty Ltd, we are not permitted to accept orders for any Seiko products from overseas customers that have originated from the Gemtime Jeweller Website. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause our overseas customers.

In fact, the only transactions that are excluded from attracting AA Rewards Points are those relating to either paying for jewellery repairs/ alterations, and/ or settlement of an insurance company claim (replacement or repair).

The national Gemtime Jeweller Guarantee states that:
“The Gemtime Jeweller shown below (i.e. that particular Gemtime store that appears in writing on the given Guarantee card) will honour any claim against faulty workmanship or materials, always provided that the article has been subject to fair and reasonable wear or use. If you have a claim, please present this Guarantee to any Gemtime Jeweller in New Zealand, with the affected product. Gemtime Jewellers, with their expertise and quality merchandise, aim to give you – our customer - complete service and satisfaction.
Subject to the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, this Guarantee is effective for a 12 month period from the date of purchase.”
Our nationally available gift vouchers are offered in the following denominations: $10, $25, $50, and $100, and have an effective life of 6 months from the date of purchase.

Except as provided in the Customer Guarantees Act 1993, all
warranties, descriptions product representatives or advice given as to
the fitness or suitability for any purpose, tolerance to any
conditions, similarity to sample merchantability or otherwise are
expressly excluded.
The customer will
ensure that any products purchased are used for purposes for which they
are suitable and shall be responsible for ensuring all necessary skill
and care in maintaining and using the product purchased.

A Gemtime customer is entitled to return goods:
- where there is a defect in the goods of a substantial nature
- where a Gemtime store owner fails to remedy a defect.
Note: A "defect" is any aspect of an item or service that is not of acceptable quality.
However,
a Gemtime customer cannot reject the defective goods whenever they want
to. Instead, the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act requires customers
to reject the goods within a "reasonable time" from purchase.
Please
be aware that it is the intention of the issuing Gemtime Jeweller store
to pass on any customs duty that is applied to an item that has been
returned for repair or replacement by an overseas customer, when it is
determined by the store owner that either:
a)
The suggested fault is found to be caused by the customer and is not
covered by provisions of the NZ Consumer Guarantees Act, or
b)
The reason given for replacement or rejection is in fact not able to be
validated and cannot be aligned to qualifying circumstances as defined
by the NZ Consumer Guarantees Act.

The Gemtime store that you have purchased a particular product from,
will consider an appropriate exchange of product, providing that:
- The exchange is in accordance with provisions of the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act.
- The
exchange involves substituting a replacement product of the same
essential specifications as the original item - unless otherwise agreed
between the store owner/ manager and the customer.
- The
request for exchange of product is not simply made at the whim of the
customer, wanting to exchange a newly purchased item for the sake of
making the exchange.
- The customer
is liable for all freight (or other) costs incurred in the exchange
process, unless the supplied products are defective.
Please
be aware that it is the intention of the issuing Gemtime Jeweller store
to charge any overseas customer, the relevant customs duty that is
applied to an item that has been returned for repair or replacement,
when it is determined by the store owner that either:
a)
The suggested fault is found to be caused by the customer and is not
covered by provisions of the NZ Consumer Guarantees Act, or
b)

IMPORTANT NOTE - All products should be returned EXCLUSIVELY by either:
- Registered mail or
- Courier

all the related tracing documentation completed at the time, and
advised to the relevant Gemtime Jeweller store on the day that the
physical product is sent to that store.

In the first instance, contact the specific store in question and express your complaint to the store owner.
If agreement cannot be reached with the owner of the relevant Gemtime Jeweller store, direct a written complaint to -

In the event that a complaint remains unresolved after having addressed it with Gemtime’s CEO, it will be referred to an external dispute resolution body - the identity of which, and the terms and conditions of referral, to be agreed between Gemtime New Zealand Limited and the customer.

Collection of Information -
The customer authorises Gemtime to collect, retain and use personal information for the purposes of:
- Assessing customer creditworthiness.
- Undertaking any dealings or transactions with the customer.
- Enforcement of any legal or other rights Gemtime may have against the customer at the entire discretion of Gemtime.
- Sending the customer advertising or any other promotional material.
Collection from Other Sources -
The customer further authorises Gemtime to collect personal information
from themselves or any other source available to Gemtime including but
not limited to credit referral agencies, their bank and any other
suppliers of product and services to them for the purpose of assessing
creditworthiness.
Gemtime Rights of Refusal -
The customer is aware that in the event that there is insufficient
personal information supplied, or the information obtained is not
satisfactory to Gemtime at its sole discretion, then Gemtime or any of
its stores may choose not to complete transactions with the customer.
Information Retention -
The customer is aware that personal information supplied will be
retained by Gemtime and will be accessible by Gemtime's National Office
and its member stores for or in relation to any of the purposes listed
under the sub-heading "Collection of Information" v for a reasonable
period.
Correction of Personal Information -
Gemtime will facilitate any request made by the customer to access
personal information held by Gemtime. The customer may request any
correction to personal information held by Gemtime and this request
will be attached to the information held. The customer agrees to pay
Gemtime reasonable costs on a time and attendance basis in complying
with any such requests.

correspondence within a few hours of receipt. If you have not received
acknowledgement of your correspondence within 24 hours please re-send
